myPet is a pet booklet and pet records app created to help people keep pet information simple, organized, and easy to use. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when it may be shared, and what choices you have.

1. Who we are
myPet is operated by Daniel Necula.
2. What information we collect
We collect only the information needed to provide the app and its core features.
Account information
When you create or use an account, we may collect information such as:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your sign-in method, such as email, Apple, or Google
- Basic account identifiers needed to keep your account working
Pet information
When you use myPet, you may add information about your pet, including:
- Pet name
- Species or breed
- Sex
- Date of birth or estimated age
- Weight
- Microchip and registration details
- Pet photo or avatar
- Notes you choose to save
Pet record information
You may also create and store records related to your pet's care, including:
- Vaccination records
- Parasite prevention records
- Surgery records
- Treatment or consultation records
- Weight records
- Reminder details and due dates
- Attached files, images, or documents
Support and feedback information
If you contact support, report a problem, or send feedback, we may collect:
- Your message
- Your contact email address
- Optional screenshots or attachments you choose to send
- Technical context you provide in the request
Notification information
If you enable reminders or notifications, we may process information needed to send them, including notification settings and device notification tokens.
Analytics information
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how people use myPet and to improve the app. This may include information such as:
- App interactions
- Feature usage
- Sign-in and sign-up events
- Pet creation events
- General device and app usage information provided through the analytics service
We do not use analytics for advertising or data brokerage.
Local device information
Some data may be stored locally on your device to improve performance and convenience, such as:
- Cached app data
- Preference settings such as language, units, and date format
- Travel-related settings
- Other local convenience settings needed for app features
3. How we use your information
We use your information only to provide and support myPet. This includes:
- Creating and managing your account
- Saving and syncing your pet data
- Showing your records and attachments in the app
- Creating and managing reminders you choose
- Sending notifications you enable
- Responding to support requests and feedback
- Understanding app usage and improving reliability, usability, and core functionality through analytics
- Processing account deletion when requested
- Protecting the security and integrity of the service
We do not use your information for unrelated marketing. We do not sell your personal information.
4. How information is shared
We share information only when needed to operate the app or when you choose to share it.
If you use Care Circle caregiver sharing, the pet owner may invite one caregiver to access the selected pet's records and reminder-related activity inside the app. Shared access is controlled by the pet owner, can be revoked by the owner, and may become read-only or be removed if the owner's subscription state changes or either participating account is deleted.
We may share information with:
- Service providers that help run myPet, such as authentication, database, cloud storage, analytics, and cloud functions providers
- Apple or Google, if you choose Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In
- Notification providers or platform services when reminders and notifications are enabled
- The invited caregiver for the specific pet, when the pet owner enables Care Circle sharing for that pet
- Your chosen app or destination if you export, email, print, or otherwise share a file yourself
- Authorities or legal bodies if required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or security
We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
5. Data storage and security
Your information may be stored using secure cloud services needed to operate myPet. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to keep the app and its supporting services appropriately protected.
6. Data retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app and operate it safely.
In general:
- Account and pet record information is kept while your account remains active
- Support requests and optional screenshots are kept only for as long as needed to review, respond to, and resolve the request, and are then deleted within 6 months unless a longer period is required by law or for security reasons
- Analytics data is retained according to the settings and retention periods available in the analytics service used to operate the app
- Some technical backups or system records may remain for a limited period before they are automatically overwritten or removed
If you delete your account, we will take steps to remove your account data from the app's active systems, subject to any limited retention required by law, security, fraud prevention, or backup processes.
7. Account deletion and your choices
You can manage your information inside the app.
You may:
- Update pet and account information in the app
- Manage notification permissions in your device settings
- Contact support for privacy questions
- Delete your account from the My Account section of the app
When you request account deletion, we aim to remove your account data from the app's active systems, including your stored pet data and uploaded files associated with that account, subject to limited legal, security, analytics, or backup exceptions where applicable.
If Care Circle sharing is active, deleting the owner or caregiver account is also intended to invalidate the related shared-access records so the surviving account no longer sees stale shared access.
You remain responsible for reviewing reminders, records, and exported information before acting on them or sharing them with others.
8. Saved and exported files
myPet may allow you to save or export files, images, or summaries. If you choose to do this, copies may remain in your photo library, files app, email account, printer queue, or another app or storage location you choose. Those copies are controlled by the service or app where you save or send them.
9. Children's privacy
myPet is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly design the app for use by children under 13.
If you believe information from a child under 13 has been provided to us in error, please contact us at dncla@icloud.com so we can review and take appropriate action.
10. International processing
Depending on the services used to operate myPet, your information may be processed in countries outside your own. Where this happens, we rely on the protections offered by our service providers and reasonable safeguards appropriate for a small consumer app.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or operational needs. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide notice inside the app or on the website.
